The last time I wrote I was sitting in the Vegas airport because my flight to LA was delayed. Turns out the flight was cancelled and the only next flight I could get was at 9:30pm that night – a 7 hour wait.
So I decided to stay another night in Vegas and try to catch the Beatles “Love” show that I missed. I scored a cheap room at The Venetian at the last minute thanks to priceline.com. It’s possibly the fanciest place I’ve ever stayed.
This day was the day I officially became a bad husband. I felt so guilty that Katie wasn’t traveling with me. A night at The Venetian and the Beatles “Love” show! Are you kidding me!?! The show was right across the street at The Mirage so everything worked out pretty well indeed. As a huge Beatles fan it was a dream come true to catch the “Love” show. I really never thought I would ever get the chance. The show itself was absolutely amazing! Koo-koo-ka-choo!

Currently I’m sitting in the Las Vegas airport waiting to fly to LA. My flight is delayed so that’s given me some time to write this post and blog some more photos from Vegas.
Last night was my last night in Vegas so I spent some time wandering the strip shooting some photos and video. No videos to share as yet, but here’s some photos from last night and some shot during the day:
*It was just announced over the PA that the flight is delayed until 3:30pm … 3 hours to kill. Maybe I’ll have some video to share after all.

Paul and Aleisha got married at Mt Tambourine on Friday the 3rd of April. It was a gorgeous wedding – Aleisha looked stunning and Paul scrubbed up well too ;)
Again, IT RAINED! This didn’t stop us getting a few shots outside between showers :)

Well … I’ve been in the USA for about 4 days now. I cannot believe how much I’ve squeezed into those 4 days.
So far I’ve been to LA, Pasadena, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Gatos and I’m currently in Las Vegas. Whoa, talk about whirlwind!
Here’s a quick rundown of the highlights so far:
- Landed in LA at 7am (US time), after a 13 hour flight – picked up my rental car and then went driving in LA. Quite a surreal and scary feeling for sure. 6 lanes of traffic all going at 100km/h!
- Catching an LA Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium with 45,000 people. Thanks Joel for taking me to the game!
- Landing in San Francisco airport then quickly driving into town so I could see and drive over the Golden Gate Bridge
- Shooting a wedding and Same Day Edit in Los Gatos with StillMotion (www.stillmotion.ca) plus meeting Patrick, Amina, Michael and Konrad from StillMotion and confirming that they are super cool, super funny, really nice people
- Being pleasantly surprised that Casey and Danielle from Mind|Castle (www.mindcastlestudios.com) were in Los Gatos to shoot the wedding too!
- Teaching Casey and Michael a bunch of Aussie slang and helping them with their Aussie accents!
- Talking to Katie on the phone, and getting her e-mails. Love you Katie!
- Catching a ride in a stretch Hummer limo from the Las Vegas airport to the Hilton – those StillMotion kids know how to roll large! No, seriously the hummer was cheaper than a taxi or shuttle for all of us, gotta love Vegas!
So, that’s where I’m at right now, in Vegas. I’m in town for the NAB Show, helping out at the Cinevate (www.cinevate.com) booth a bit as well.
Here’s a few photos, I’ll try to shoot more photos … I’ve been a bit stuck in video mode with the 5D Mark II – so many cool things to film!

Matt and I had such a great time photographing Evan and Lacey – they are seriously gorgeous couple and we can’t wait to shooting their wedding!
For Evan and Lacey’s shoot we started off at Laural Bank Park – this is where they had their first date! *Awww…CUTE!* We then headed out to Ravensbourne… Gee it was cold!!! Winter is really starting to kick in.

Well I’m still at home in Australia :) I’m missing Matt heaps – but I’m keeping myself busy with lots and lots of photo editing!
Yesterday I went to Brisbane for Rhett and Bianca’s engagement shoot. We had heaps of fun in the city and then we went to a park for the second half of the shoot.
I have sooo many sneak peeks to catch up on! I will try and post them all as soon as I can! Make sure you check back regularly!
