In March, we traveled to Glen Innes to photograph Damian and Bec’s wedding. I only just realised that we hadn’t blogged any of their photos apart from a sneak peek.
Damian and Bec won our hearts when, along with their initial inquiry, they sent us a video of themselves copying our own wedding invitation video. If you haven’t watch our wedding invitation video you can check it out HERE. They didn’t copy our video to send to their own guests .. they just did it for the fun of it. Their video put the biggest smiles on our faces and I remember Matt saying, “I don’t care what it takes, this is a couple whose wedding we’ve got to shoot!”

The church had the most beautiful stained glass windows.
We had heaps of fun photographing them at the Kangaroo Point Cliffs in Brisbane. I took this photo while Katie ran around like a crazy person behind them with a video light. This particular photo turned out really well. Angel wings are so in ;)
Afterwards we went out to dinner together – it was great getting to know them both better. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding!

This year was the first time that we’ve entered the National APPA Awards (Australian Professional Photographer Awards). It was an exciting and slightly stressful process but overall it has been a great learning experience for both Katie and I.
Both of us are totally pumped to have come away with a Silver Award each. I was especially excited given the short amount of time I’ve been doing photography! Katie beat me by one point so I guess that means she is still the #1 photographer in Shadowplay :) Just wait till next year I say!

While overseas I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding with StillMotion and to also visit their studio just outside of Toronto, Canada. Not only are StillMotion the ultimate wedding film-making dream-team but all of them (Patrick, Michael and Konrad) are top blokes as well.
In early 2010 the StillMotion gang are hosting three workshops in Australia. Without a doubt these workshops will be the biggest thing to hit the Australian wedding videography industry ever!
You might notice a wild-haired Aussie in this video! It’s me! I’m excited to announce that I’ll be on hand at all the Aussie workshops and I’ll be doing a bit of guest speaking as well.
I truly believe that the studios and wedding film-makers that attend these workshops will become the leaders of the Aussie wedding videography industry. If you’re interested yourself or know of a videographer who wants to up their game then it’s time to get cracking, there’s only a few spaces left.

I’ve known June and Jason for over a year now. The first time I photographed them was when they were expecting their little boy, Lachlan, who arrived on Christmas Day 2007.
